Introduction
If you’re looking for a city that’s as relaxed as it is fun, look no further than Perth. There are so many activities to choose from here, which means there’s something for everyone. Whether you prefer being on the water or exploring nature in its natural state, you’ll find your perfect activity in this city.
Picnic in Kings Park
Kings Park is a beautiful park in Perth that’s popular for picnics. There are many different places to picnic, including the Botanic Gardens and Mounts Bay Reserve. You can also enjoy a picnic at one of the many sports facilities or playgrounds located throughout Kings Park.
If you’re looking for something more adventurous, why not try your hand at rock climbing? Or if it’s an easygoing day out with family or friends that you want, why not bring along some food from one of Perth’s cafes or restaurants? There are plenty options available!
Watch the sunset at Swan Bells
- How to get there: Swan Bells is located at the end of St George’s Terrace, which is just a short walk from Perth Central train station.
- What to bring: A bag or backpack will be handy for carrying your belongings and snacks. If it’s hot out, make sure to bring plenty of water with you!
- What to expect: This lookout offers 360-degree views of Perth city centre and surrounds, including Kings Park (if the weather is clear). You can also see Fremantle Harbour if you look southward towards Rottnest Island or northward towards Victoria Park Racecourse. If it’s sunset time–and even if it isn’t–you’ll want a camera with you in order capture some amazing photos! And don’t forget about selfie sticks!
- What else?: There are public toilets near Swan Bells as well as some seating areas where visitors can sit down if they get tired from walking around all day long.
Visit the Fremantle Markets
The Fremantle Markets are open every Saturday and Sunday, and they’re the largest open air market in Western Australia. It’s a great place to find unique gifts and souvenirs, as well as grab a bite to eat.
The Fremantle Markets are located at the Esplanade Park in Fremantle, about 30 minutes from Perth city center by car or bus. They run from 6am until 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays (closed Mondays).
Visit the Aquarium of Western Australia
The Aquarium of Western Australia is a must-see when visiting Perth. It’s one of the largest aquariums in Australia, with more than 8,000 animals representing over 500 species and subspecies. Visitors can watch sharks swim around their tank or feed them from above. There are also freshwater tanks filled with turtles and fish, as well as saltwater exhibits featuring sea lions and seals who perform daily shows for visitors on land or water.
If you’re interested in learning more about conservation efforts at this aquarium, take one of their guided tours where you’ll hear all about it from experts who work there! Or just come by during opening hours (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily) to see what all the fuss is about without any extra cost involved at all–just pay admission price ($20 AUD per person).
Watch a movie under the stars at Matilda Bay Wharf Esplanade Foreshore Playground
Located in the city’s CBD, this playground has everything you could want for an outdoor evening with friends or family: a small water park, bar and restaurant (you can even order takeaways), cafe, cinema and even live music performances on weekends!
If you’re looking for something more relaxed than going out clubbing all night long then come here after work on Friday or Saturday nights; grab some drinks at their bar while listening to some great tunes from local bands before heading back home early enough so that everyone can wake up bright-eyed and bushy tailed on Monday morning ready for another week at work/uni etc.
Go for a walk along Rottnest Island and Penguin Parade
Rottnest Island is a popular destination for tourists, and it’s easy to see why. The island has beautiful beaches, excellent restaurants and bars, and plenty of activities to enjoy during your stay. One of the most popular things to do on Rottnest Island is go for a walk along one of its trails or catch some rays on one of its pristine white sand beaches. If you’re looking for something more active than just strolling around town though, we recommend taking advantage of the nearby hiking trails that lead through dense bushland with views over clear blue waters (and even across to Fremantle!).
The sunset at Rottnest Island is also worth seeing – this time from above as opposed to below! You can get an aerial view by booking yourself onto one of Perth Helicopter’s tours which depart from Hillarys Boat Harbour near Joondalup each day; or alternatively take advantage of their special offer where you receive two tickets for $99 if booked online at least 24 hours before departure time (subjected availability).
Walk, cycle or drive the Munda Biddi Trail.
The Munda Biddi Trail is a cycle trail that runs from Mundaring to Albany, covering approximately 620 km. It’s the longest bike trail in the southern hemisphere and suitable for all abilities, from beginners to experienced cyclists. There are rest stops with toilets and water along the way (the first one is at Jarrahdale). The scenery is stunning; you’ll see forests, farmland and coastal views as you travel through some of Western Australia’s most spectacular regions.
If you’re feeling particularly adventurous or just want to get away from it all for a while, try cycling solo! You’ll need to book your accommodation ahead of time though–and remember that while this route has been designed specifically with cyclists in mind there will still be cars on the road so be cautious when crossing intersections or entering traffic zones like roundabouts where cars may not see you coming until it’s too late…
Perth is the perfect city to relax while having fun at the same time.
If you’re looking for a place that combines nature with entertainment, then Perth is definitely where you want to be. Perth has everything from beaches and parks, to museums and art galleries. It also boasts of its own zoo–Pinnaroo Park Zoo–which offers both indoor and outdoor attractions for visitors of all ages!
While there are many things to do in Perth (and no one can visit them all), here are some of our favorites:
Conclusion
With so many things to do in Perth, you’ll never have a dull day. Whether you’re looking for an adventurous activity or something relaxing, this city has it all.
