Introduction
Wagga Wagga is a beautiful city in the heart of New South Wales, Australia. It’s surrounded by lush green hills and has a river running through it that makes for some stunning views. There are plenty of things to see and do around town—and even more if you plan to stay longer! If you’re planning on visiting Wagga Wagga soon, I’ve put together a 3-day itinerary for you that will give you exactly what you need from your trip.
Day 1
The first day of your trip is all about exploring the city.
- The Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens is a great place to start, with its wide variety of plants, trees and flowers. You can also check out the historic conservatory that dates back to the 1930s. If you’re interested in learning more about local history and culture, there’s also an art gallery right next door!
- Head down along Murrumbidgee River where you can walk along the riverbank or take a stroll through North Wagga’s main street–you’ll find everything from cafes and restaurants to shops selling locally made crafts. If there’s time after all this exploring (and eating), consider stopping by one of our many museums such as National Trust NSW – Lockhart House Museum & Regional Library which showcases life during colonial days through its collection of original artefacts such as furniture pieces made by convicts who were sent here when Australia was still being colonized by Europeans hundreds years ago.”
Day 2
On day two, you will have the chance to explore the city of Wagga Wagga. You can start by visiting the museums and markets, which are both located in central Wagga Wagga. The museums include:
- National Motor Museum – this museum houses a collection of classic cars and motorcycles from around Australia, including several that were used in movies!
- National Wool Museum – learn all about sheep farming in Australia with this interactive museum!
- Australian Fossil & Mineral Museum – check out fossils that have been found near your hometown! Once you’ve finished learning about history and science at these museums, it may be time for lunch! Try some traditional Aussie cuisine at one of our local restaurants like The Stockman’s Bar & Grill or Spice Hut Thai Restaurant before heading back into town for some sightseeing at nightfall.
Day 3
Day 3 of your trip to Wagga Wagga is all about the outdoors. As you’re in town, make sure to visit the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery and Visitor Information Centre. Both locations offer a great way to get a feel for what makes this city so special.
